Frequently asked questions
How much does a custom Discord bot cost?
Simple bots (welcome flow, basic commands, single integration) start at $200 and ship in 2–5 days. Mid-tier bots (database, role automation, ticketing) run $700–$2,000 and ship in 1–2 weeks. Full automation suites (raid protection, monetization, multi-bot architecture) run $2,500+ and take 2–4 weeks. Written quote up front.
Do you use Discord.js, discord.py, or something else?
Stack depends on what you need. We default to Discord.js (Node.js) for most projects because of mature library support. We use discord.py for Python-heavy stacks or when ML integration is involved. We also write in Go (DiscordGo) for high-throughput moderation bots. The choice happens at the discovery call based on hosting and team skills.
Will the bot handle high member counts and raids?
Yes. We architect bots with raid protection in mind: join-rate detection, account-age filtering, lockdown mode, and gradual verification gates. For servers above 50k members we use sharded deployments and multi-bot architectures so a single bot is never a bottleneck.
Can the bot integrate with payment systems?
Yes. We integrate Stripe, crypto payments (USDT, BTC, ETH), Patreon-alternative subscriptions, and one-off purchases for paid roles or token-gated channels. Wallet verification (MetaMask, Phantom, Solana) for Web3 communities is also a common add-on.
What happens to the bot if Discord changes their API?
30 days of post-delivery support is included for exactly this — Discord ships gateway and intent changes regularly. After 30 days, you can either patch yourself (you have the source) or sign a small monthly retainer with us so we keep your bot in lockstep with the platform.
Will my bot work after Discord's verification process?
Bots in 75+ servers require Discord's verification. We help you submit verification, prepare the privacy policy and ToS pages, configure intents correctly, and respond to Discord's review questions. Most verifications complete in 1–3 weeks.
Can I host the bot myself?
Yes. We deploy to your infrastructure of choice (VPS, Docker, Railway, Fly.io) and hand over deployment scripts. Most production Discord bots run on $10–$30/month VPS. We can also host on your behalf if you prefer.
